The Coniston Hotel
Conveniently located on the A65 Skipton to Kendal road, amidst 1400 acres of spectacular Yorkshire Dales scenery centered round a 24-acre lake, the 50 bedroom Coniston Hotel is the ideal destination for leisure breaks, fine dining, weddings, conferencing and corporate activities.
The Coniston Estate
The Hotel forms part of the Coniston Estate, which has been home to the Bannister family since the late 1960s. The estate comprises of the magnificent Coniston Hall,which is available for weddings and corporate functions, The Coniston Hotel, Coniston Shooting Ground, Falconry Centre and much more.
After the Bannister's bought the estate they became aware of the need to diversify into areas other than farming. They decided to convert one of the outlying barns in to a farm shop which sold produce from the estate including homemade preserves and fish.
Mrs Bannister and her son Tom were responsible for the farm shop and as today, the whole family was very involved in the every aspect of running the business.
Being located on the A65 trunk road to the Lakes meant that the farm shop very quickly gathered a strong customer base and a tearoom was added to meet growing demand.
We have private rooms available for lunches, dinners, parties and functions, which can accommodate small numbers for intimate dinners right up to buffet parties for 300 guests.
